Filipino Thanksgiving Dinner and Get Together πŸ¦ƒ

We roasted turkey, steamed Maine lobster tails, sauteed vegetables and cooked some Filipino side dishes - pancit bihon and macaroni salad. The lemons were freshly-picked from our backyard edible garden, as well as the herbs - rosemary, sage, thyme and chives. Our friends brought the Thanksgiving cake from Porto's.

After the rain

Pitter-patter, pitter-patter, pit.......ter---pat.....ter.
The rain has stopped.
Silvery raindrops clung to the leaves
The sun reappears on the horizon.
The birds start to sing again.
A happy day!

Autumn Foliage Comes Late in Los Angeles

It’s already December and autumn leaves are just peaking in Los Angeles.  The gingko trees, the sumac, tulip trees, maple and oak trees lining the streets are colorful and cheerful.  Yellow, brilliant crimson, bright orange, gold and red. Autumn colors are everywhere.

Get out there and enjoy. The leaves are falling pretty quickly.

Collecting Autumn Leaves

“Outside – outside,”  the Little Guy wanted to go outside.  So we took a leisurely stroll down the street to the park .  It’s a wonderful time to be outside.  We walked and walked and scoured the ground for some autumn leaves.   We had such a fun time.  Next time we’ll take a bag or a bucket.

Rainy Day in Los Angeles

Winter is coming.  A burst of heavy rainfall  came Saturday morning.  A second storm moving into Los Angeles from the Pacific Ocean will bring more rainfall on Tuesday. I might see a snowy mountain a few miles away from our bedroom window when I wake-up on Tuesday

Mint

A quick check in the garden reveals that the mint is going strong alongside a basil plant.  I see cups of mint tea and glasses of mojito in the near future.
