Mimi's Cafe, Pickleball and Jinya Ramen ☕️🎾🍜

Met a friend today and had Pain Perdu for breakfast at Mimi's Cafe. Then off to the park to take a stroll and play pickleball. Then to the mall for ramen at Jinya Ramen.

Boating

While at La Flotille, we saw couples, families and a group of teenagers hopping onto the boats. 

Growing up, it was our favorite past time during nap time… sneaking on the boat of our neighbor. So when husband said, “it looks like fun.”  I said, “let’s do it.”

So now we’re in the middle of the lake trying to figure out how to maneuver the boat.  Should we paddle to the left? Should we paddle to the right? Should we paddle together?

Then the rain came pouring down -- goodness gracious! We tried so hard to paddle toward the edge of the lake.  Then I hopped off, ran to the station, told the crew while pointing to my husband, “he needs to be rescued.”  LOL!

Winter Morning Stroll

We ventured out to the park to see some migratory birds on our way to meet-up with hubby for lunch.

A Submarine Voyage

... to find Nemo in the Tomorrowland section of Disneyland. While in line, we heard seagulls saying, "mine, mine."

Bubbles came out as the submarine descends into the water.  Through the porthole, we saw corals, starfish, lobsters, clams and the characters of Disney-Pixar's movie Darla, Bruce, Squirt, Crush, Dory, Marlin and Nemo.

Haloween Time at Disneyland

Capturing the magic of the Haloween season at Disneyland. Pumpkins, yellow streamers and Disney characters in their Haloween costumes.

Queen Elizabeth Park

A quick stop to see the fountain, the Bloedel Conservatory and the floral display.

Capilano Suspension Bridge

Crossing the Capilano Suspension Bridge, 70 meters high above the Capilano River and 170 meters long. The Little Guy was able to walk/run a quarter length.

Logger's Grill

Loading up on carbs and protein before we cross the suspension bridge and explore the treetops.

Granville Island

This is another tourist attraction on my list.  A foodie haven.  Restaurants and coffee shops, a large market selling seafood, meat, fresh produce, chocolates and pastries.  This place reminds me of La Boqueria in Barcelona.

A few steps away is the Pelican Bay Marina.

At Travel Town

All aboard!  Here comes our choo choo train, our choo choo train, coming down the track.  

We took the miniature train which circles the perimeter of the museum, we checked the wooden train cars and wandered around for a couple of hours.  It’s a great place for kids who love trains.

Malibu Bluffs Park

Overcast skies and way way colder here than on the other side of the mountains.

We walked and walked, looked at the ocean, ran a little bit, "chased" the squirrels and took a few snapshots.

Easter at the Zoo

Just a quick visit at the zoo to see the bunny and take a few snapshots.  It was way too crowded and there was no Easter egg hunting. 

On to the Slide... weeeee!

Swing was fun, but slide was even better... another weee!

The Little Guy never got tired climbing the ladder, standing on top and then sliding down.

Next time we'll try the see saw :-)

Swinging Into Autumn

After spotting some birds, we brought the Little Guy to the playground.  

He sure had an awesome time flying through the air on a swing.

On the First Saturday of Autumn

There is definitely a change in the air.  I had to put on a sweater this morning.

And Autumn migration is underway.  Birds are on the move back to the South as days get shorter, food supply dwindles and it gets colder across North America.

We drove to the lake to see some birds.  In the years past, I've photographed some herons, osprey, snowy egrets, black birds, blue jays and some I could not identify which I will post on a separate blog.

Today, we saw cormorants, mallards, cinnamon teal, mud hen/coots and an Egyptian goose.

Oh, and the white pelicans.  I have not spotted one yet.  I can't wait to see them back...
