Steveston Village

At the quaint coastal village of Steveston. We walked on the pier and checked-out the boats selling freshly-caught fish.

Queen Elizabeth Park

A quick stop to see the fountain, the Bloedel Conservatory and the floral display.

Treetops Adventure

Taking-in the beautiful green scenery and listening to the trees as they sway in the wind while we navigate the wooden steps  of the Treetops Adventure.

Capilano Suspension Bridge

Crossing the Capilano Suspension Bridge, 70 meters high above the Capilano River and 170 meters long. The Little Guy was able to walk/run a quarter length.

Whistler

Home to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, Whistler is a resort town visited by more than two million tourists every year.   It’s a great destination for skiers and mountain bikers.  We are neither.  I gave skiing a shot, in Lake Tahoe, a few years back.  Needless to say, I failed.  Mountain biking?? Husband and I have mountain bikes. We used to bring them to Santa Monica and Griffith Park. Used to... long, long time ago.  

Whistler attracts sports enthusiasts and the rest of us who love to see new places and enjoy beautiful sceneries.

Sea-to-Sky Highway

From Lions Gate Bridge, we winded our way up joyously on Sea-to-Sky Highway from the wind-blown sea-scented coast, passing snow-capped mountains and quaint villages, breathing the fresh breath of the ocean trees until we reach the resort town of Whistler.

Waves Coffee House

It was past closing time at the Greek, yet the conversation wasn’t over so we walked to Waves Coffee House to continue chatting over a cup of joe.  Good times!

A Big Fat Greek Dinner in Canada

Met-up with friends for dinner at Kisamos in Steveston. Huge plates,  delicious food and friendly servers.  We stayed until past closing time.

Granville Island

This is another tourist attraction on my list.  A foodie haven.  Restaurants and coffee shops, a large market selling seafood, meat, fresh produce, chocolates and pastries.  This place reminds me of La Boqueria in Barcelona.

A few steps away is the Pelican Bay Marina.

Early Signs of Autumn

Some leaves have begun to turn and some have fallen.

Stanley Park

On to Stanley Park, a 1,000-acre world-renowned urban park, the third largest in North America.  We stopped at Brockton Point to see the totem pole display, took a few snapshots by the sea wall, then headed to the 100-year-old lighthouse.

Cafe Orzo

Love this cozy, European-inspired cafe in Deep Cove. We had coffee and waffles. Service was great. The barista is Italian from Lake Como. He is super nice.

Deep Cove

After dim sum we headed North to Deep Cove. The views, breathtaking! The lake and the surrounding mountains….oh, so beautiful!  And the small pier takes you right out to the lake. There are picnic tables, shops and quaint cafes.  

If we move here, this would be my picnic spot on Summer Fridays.

Dim Sum in Richmond

Richmond, a Vancouver suburb is nicknamed Little Hong Kong as thousands of affluent Chinese immigrants flock to this area during British turnover of Hong Kong.

Our friends/husband’s classmates since grade school brought us to South Ocean Seafood for dim sum. We had a wonderful time.  Food was delicious.

Hello Canada!

There is definitely a change in the air. I had to put on a warm cardigan.

At LAX

… bound for Vancouver, Canada.  The Little Guy is excited to fly on the plane again. He is becoming a seasoned traveler.  This is his ninth flight.
