Michaels Arts and Crafts

Here during my lunch break to look for a poster board for the Little Guy’s family project.  The theme is ‘’wildlife” –  a picture, a cutout, drawing, clipping or painting of an animal of choice on a medium poster board.  We have not picked an animal to showcase yet. First came to mind was lion, but the challenging part is, our Little Guy doesn’t say lion whenever he sees one (at the zoo and in books/magazines), he just roar.  Same can be said for tiger.  Maybe a bear??  I heard him say teddy bear. He will present the project in class end of the month so it should be an animal that he can correctly identify and a name that he can correctly pronounce.

Toddler Craft: 4th of July

My Flag

Although my hands are very small
I made this flag to fly for all
I might be too young to understand
But I know these colors are something grand
The red, white and blue
Forever Stand!

Toddler Craft: Tie-Dye Shirt

Where to get a toddler plain white shirt?

Michael’s, my go-to-store for arts and crafts.  So on Tuesday during lunch break I went there, they have tie-dye t-shirts in different colors -- but the smallest from the Youth section is still too big for the Little Guy.  I got one anyway just in case my work calendar gets crazy the following day and I don’t get a chance to go hunt down a shirt again.

Came Wednesday, work was not as hectic so I drove to Burbank Town Center.  I went to Macy’s first, there were onesies in sets of five, but no plain white T-shirt.  I walked and walked and stumbled upon Old Navy.  I went inside, ta-da! on the shelf were white t-shirts from size 6 months to 5T.

And today, here’s what we came home with… our Little Guy’s first tie-dye shirt!

Happy Memorial Day!

I have a little poppy,
As red as red can be,
To show that I remember,
Those who fought for me."

Easter Egg

A craft project from pre-school.  They colored the egg and placed on a handmade paper bag filled with green straws to look like a nest.

Halloween

Ah, Halloween -- my least favorite of all celebrations   I know it is such a fun time for many but I did not grow up on it and I hate horror -- it terrifies me.  I also never dress-up for Halloween, but I was looking forward to dressing up the Little Guy.   Last year he was a Mickey Mouse. This year we got him a football outfit. He refused to wear it during the school parade but did agree to wear when we got home.

Some snapshots of the day...
