A Scary Moment with Santa

Like thousands of other parents, we took our Little Bundle of Joy to Westfield Topanga Mall and stood in line for an hour or so to score an adorable photo with Santa Claus. Totally did not expect that he would freak out and cry.  The resulting photo – a Ho! Ho! Ho! horrified baby and a baffled Santa! One day we’ll look back and smile at this :-)

A huge thank you to my uber-generous mommy-in-law for this Christmas present!

A Christmas Fantasy Parade

We braved out the cold weather and waded through large crowds to see the magical Christmas Fantasy Parade which featured several floats with Disney characters such as Mickey & Minnie, Donald & Daisy, Tigger and Winnie the Pooh, Goofy & Max, Pluto, Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket & Geppett, Clarabelle Cow and Gingerbread Cookie, Chip and Dale, Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel,  Buzz Lightyear, Belle & Beast.

Baby's First Trip to Disneyland

‘Tis the season at the happiest place on earth!

Yes, we took our 10-month old baby to Disneyland for the very first time.  We got there around noon and went straight to Fantasyland, parked the stroller and started off our fun-filled trip at It’s A Small World.  As expected, since it was the last weekend before Christmas, the line was insanely long.  Baby fell asleep while we were in line but woke up the moment we embarked on the boat.  I saw lots of giggles and smiles as we glide through the 300+ dolls dancing and singing “It’s A Small World” and Christmas carols.  Seeing his face light up in wonder is priceless.

Then we headed to the Village Haus Restaurant for lunch.  Husband and I both had Angus Pastrami Cheeseburger and Pepperoni Pizza on the side.

After lunch we queued for about an hour or so for another much-loved and very popular attraction -- Dumbo, the Flying Elephant.  Baby had a blast soaring high above Fantasyland.

Then time for another nap.  While baby was asleep Daddy took the bobsled and careened around the icy slopes of Matterhorn.

Then off to Mickey’s Toontown to see the world’s most famous mouse. He lives next to Minnie and Chip ‘n Dale.  We walked through his living room, his bedroom and his garden.  We saw where he washes his clothes.  We watched a movie in his barn.  He had tons of visitors today so it took more than an hour before he got to greet and pose for a photo with our Little Bundle of Joy.

When we got out of Mickey’s House it was time to look for a good spot to watch the parade.  More on that on a separate blog.
