At Home In Our Jammies
Oh yes, it's the start of the holiday shopping season and while so many folks braved out into the craziness of Black Friday pushing and shoving, we stayed home and kept our jammies on.
Here are some photos I took after our Little Bundle of Joy woke up...

Thanksgiving Dinner
Did you guys have a wonderful Thanksgiving?
I hope so. Ours was lovely. We spent it
at home with my husband, mother-in-law and our most precious blessing… our
Little Bundle of Joy. On the table -- a home-cooked
herb-roasted turkey with gravy and cranberry sauce on the side, green beans sautéed
in garlic, herb-buttered potatoes and pumpkin pie.
Happy holidays to you all! Let the season begin!!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
After the food coma from Din Tai Fung, we spent the rest of the lovely evening enjoying the spectacular display of Christmas lights at The Americana.

Din Tai Fung
One clue to great food is the length of the line snaking outside the restaurant. At Din Tai Fung, a popular dumpling house in Arcadia, the wait is always long and they don't take reservations. Folks from all over flock to this restaurant for their juicy dumplings which would gush piping hot juice if you bite too soon.
Recently, Din Tai Fung opened its doors at The Americana in Glendale. The wait is about an hour we were told when we checked-in, but we were actually seated after 20 minutes. One thing I noticed, servers here are way friendlier than in Arcadia.

Friday Date Night at Swiss Chef Restaurant
Friday night out has been a lost tradition for us. It has been replaced by weekend brunches since our Little Bundle of Joy was born. Tonight’s dinner out at Swiss Chef was one of those rare occurrences. We picked this restaurant based on good reviews.
To start, we ordered Lazy Susan for two (marinated vegetables and liver pate). Then, I had Rouladen (rolled braised beef) while husband had Gschnaetzlets (Zurich-style slivered veal in a creamy mushroom sauce). For dessert we had Creme Brulee.
